Privacy Policy for TapipaT

Last updated: 12 September 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how TapipaT handles information when you use the app. It covers both the iPhone version and the Android version, which differ in one respect that is called out where it applies. It is short because the app does very little with information: it collects none, and it makes no network requests of its own.

Information We Collect

None. TapipaT does not collect, transmit or store any personal information about you. There is no account and no sign-up, and nothing in the app identifies you to the developer.

There is no analytics, no advertising, no attribution or measurement service, and no third-party SDK of any kind, on either platform. The iPhone version uses only Apple's own frameworks; the Android version uses only the Android platform's own.

Crash reports. If you have chosen to share analytics and crash data with developers in your device's settings, Apple or Google may send me crash reports for this app. Those come from the platform, are about the crash rather than about you, and the choice is yours to make and change in your device's settings.

The app stores four preference switches (Sound Effects, Haptics, Dark Appearance and Reduce Motion), the difficulty you last chose, a count of runs finished, and your best score for each difficulty. On iPhone it also stores your Submit Scores preference. All of it is kept in the app's own storage on your device, it never leaves the device by itself, and it is removed when you delete the app.

Network requests. TapipaT makes none of its own. It contains no networking code and talks to no server operated by the developer or by anybody else.

Game Center, on iPhone only. The one exception is Apple's Game Center, which is optional and is only used if you have signed in to it on your device. When you have, and while Submit Scores is switched on in the app's settings, the score of a finished run is sent to Apple's leaderboard for the difficulty you played, from your own Game Center account. Apple receives that score and the identity of your Game Center account, and shows it on the leaderboard under whatever name you use there; as with any network request, Apple's servers also see your device's IP address. This information goes to Apple and is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer of TapipaT never receives it, and has no record of who has played the game or what they scored. Switching Submit Scores off, or not signing in to Game Center, stops this entirely; your best scores continue to be kept on your device either way.

The Android version has no leaderboards. It does not use Google Play Games Services or any other score service, there is nothing to sign in to, and your best scores are kept on the device and nowhere else. Nothing at all leaves an Android device.

Notifications. TapipaT sends none, local or pushed, and does not ask for permission to send any.

Permissions. The app asks you for nothing. It does not use location, the camera, the microphone, your contacts, Bluetooth, the photo library, or the App Tracking Transparency prompt. The Android version declares one permission, Vibrate, which the system grants without asking and which is used only to buzz the phone when the Haptics switch is on. It plays sound it generates itself, in a way that mixes with whatever you are already listening to and respects your device's silent switch.

Children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play, and is suitable for all ages. Because it collects nothing from anybody, it collects nothing from children either.
